Homie Raises $23M Series B
Homie, the full-service real estate platform helping home buyers and sellers cut traditional closing costs, recently announced a $23M Series B round. With the new funding, the company plans to expand in Las Vegas with Boise, Seattle, Colorado Springs and Nashville as potential targets in the near future. Homie has saved customers more than $55M in commissions, and has increased its revenue more than 150% in the last year. Neighbor Raises $10M Series A
Neighbor, the peer-to-peer self-storage marketplace, recently announced a $10M Series A round led by a16z. The round also included funding by Nate Bosshard, former Partner at Khosla Ventures, and Ryan Graves, Uber’s first CEO. In conjunction with the round, Airbnb board member, Jeff Jordan, has joined the Neighbor board as the company plans on expanding its operations to new cities. The Neighbor marketplace has saved renters an average of 50% on traditional storage costs and some hosts make as much as $25K per year using Neighbor as a new way of generating passive income. TaxBit Raises $5M Seed Round
Taxbit, which provides cryptocurrency tax softrware, recently announced a $5M seed round led by TTV with participation from Valar Ventures, Dragonfly Capital Partners, Collaborative Fund, Winklevoss Capital, Global Founders Capital, and Album which previously led TaxBit’s pre-seed funding round. The company plans to use the new funds to accelerate user growth on an international scale. Its software has thousands of everyday crypto users so far and its exciting growth is represented in part by a new hire, Jeff Cartwright, former Coinbase Compliance Director. Cartwright also worked at Facebook as a Policy and Compliance Manager on its cryptocurrency project, Calibra. Huckabuy Closes $2.3M Seed Round
Huckabuy, the tech startup optimizing websites to be "found" and indexed by search engines, recently announced a $2.3M seed round led by Album. Clients are seeing a 61% increase in organic search traffic on average when they use the service. Huckabuy recently introduced dynamic rendering, which creates optimized, alternative client websites specifically for Google search automation to discover and index.
